TECHNOLOGY SAFETY

Today is Monday, September 20, 2010

Technology is such a wonderful thing, however, it can also get some people into trouble. On the other hand, if you are taught how to use technology in a safe way, then it should not be a problem. Today's activity involves watching a short movie about protecting your information online. I would like you to find the short 3 minute video on the left-hand side of this blog called "Protecting Your Information Online in Plain English" and then I would like you to respond to this posting and include three important things to remember about putting your information online.
Click on the comments word below and leave a comment with your g-mail account information. As always, have a great day, and happy blogging!

Constitution Whiz Kid!

Good Afternoon Social Studies Bloggers!

Today is Wednesday, May 12, 2010 and today's posting is about becoming a Constitution Whiz Kid! The last two class lessons have focused on the Amendments to the Constitution. Amendments are additions or changes to the Constitution. Today, I would like you to take a little trip down the "interactive Constitutional timeline" and then come back to today's posting and tell me about some new and cool information you learned from today's journey.
Here are the directions: click on the link http://www.constitutioncenter.org/timeline/flash/cw.html As soon as your interactive timeline loads and begins it will read the preamble. Listen and read through the preamble on the opening screen. When the Preamble stops, proceed to the the date 1791 on the timeline and begin looking, listening and exploring what was happening during the time the Amendments were being added to the Constitution. You will need headphones for this activity...and Please, remember to come back to today's posting and leave a comment. You should re-read today's posting before leaving your comments!
