DOING MORE

Today is Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Some people say the best way to treat a nation that opposes the U.S. is to isolate it and prevent normal relations, including trade. Others say the best way is to open up relations, trade, and travel, believing that closer relations will bring change. Think about the pros and cons of each theory and then write which method you think is best for U.S.-Cuba relations and why...
As always...happy blogging soldiers!!!

I think that the method that would work best would be having open relations with the opposing countries. This allows us to maybe work out some of the issues that they have with us. It allows us to cooperate and maybe change the fact that they oppose the United States. If we were to close off all relations with other countries, we would essentially be igniting the flame between countries which may cause a war. The last thing that we all need is another war or even worse another world war. If we approach with a compromise, the opposing countries will not feel threatened in any way shape or form.

I believe that the U.S. should not treat the other countries such as Cuba, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria as enemies but try to help them with the problem that occurs within their region. For Cuba they had a strict dictator, Fidel Castro, who would not let them leave the island, and for Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria they have territory control issues and the U.S. can possibly try to communicate with them to have a safer control on their regional property.

I believe the best method is to have open relations with country’s that opposes the U.S. It allows the county’s to cooperate. I believe if the U.S sets an example for the other nations they will follow the example the U.S has set because they too want to be a successful nation. Having a closed relations can lead to conflict.
